Person Specification – Estates Trustee

Essential experience

  • Professional experience in Property / Construction, working at senior strategic management or board level.
  • Current experience in Estates development, management and maintenance.
  • Extensive experience of leading large scale tendering processes.
  • Specific experience of property refurbishment projects.
  • Demonstrable experience of building effective relationships in a non-executive capacity.
  • A proven track record of good judgement and effective decision-making.
  • Track record of commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Experience as a member of a committee, board or similar.

Desirable experience

  • Experience as Chair of a committee, board or similar.

Essential skills/abilities

  • Ability to analyse information and make strategic decisions.
  • Financial literacy to understand budgets and resource allocation.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities to achieve favourable terms and cost efficiencies.
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks governing property.
  • Ability to listen, engage and challenge effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present information concisely and effectively.
  • Ability to be an effective ambassador for the charity.

  • A strong commitment to the Hospice, its values, ethos and work.
  • Collaborative working style, fostering a strong team culture.
  • Willingness to devote the necessary time to the role including attending events out of office hours.
